What are the benefits to your company?

Let’s review the costs to a company first when hiring an employee.  A CAP study found there costs to losing an employee.  For mid-range positions where there is an annual
outsource-or-in-housesalary of $30,000 to $50,000 a year, there is approximately 20% annual salary turnover, which is a cost to the company.

In another article from Quickbooks, The True Cost of Paying An Employee, it lists several items which the employer has to pay in order to have that person as an employee based on 2015 numbers.

Social Security Tax – an average of 6.2% is paid by the employer on the employee’s wages up to $118,500.

Medicare Tax – the employer will pay 1.45% of each employee’s salary as part of this tax.

Federal Unemployment Tax Act (FUTA) – In 2015 this rate was 6% of the first $7,000 of the employee’s wages.

State Unemployment Tax – Each state varies on this tax rate.

The above are the more heavy hitting financial items that an employer must deal with, but there are some, which also can impact the employer when they have an employee working for their company.

Vacation – some companies offer accrual and some offer an employee vacation immediately at the time of hire.  There is a financial tag to this benefit.

Real Estate – yes I said real estate.  It costs an employer money to have a space for an employee to work in…whether it is a closed office or a cubicle.  It costs to have the furniture used, the computer used and so on.

Payroll Processing Costs – Yes there are costs here as well to calculate the withholding, remitting payroll taxes and so on for the payroll bookkeeper.

There may be small incidentals which add additional cost to your company, however the above illustrates the impact to an employer financially.

Cloud Clerical comes in as an outsourced service to your company – an independent hire-outsourcecontractor.  I am responsible for handling my own taxes, my own vacation and worry about my own real estate – office and equipment.  The partnering company provides a 1099 form at the end of the year for payments made to the independent contractor for services rendered.  I worry about paying taxes on what was paid.
